Here is some things you need to know how to do in order to play:

Vehicle Sorting
There are a variety of ways to help you find the vehicle you need to locate. Once you have built more vehicles (or have more groups) than can be displayed across the bottom of the screen, a bar will appear below your vehicle icons showing a bunch of boxes. The colored boxes are the set of boxes that are currently displaying on your screen, with the gray boxes showing you where you are in the total sceme of things (ie. in relation to all the vehicles). This will help you to know which way to scroll. Also, the brighter box of the colored boxes is the one you currently have selected. If a unit engages in battle, its bottom box will blink so that you can find it quickly. Also, to reiterate, you can sort your vehicles by type by hitting the down arrow when you are on the bottom level of icons. This pops up a set of 5-6 icons. Custom, All, Offense, Defense, Radar, Resource. You can then right arrow to selct one, then up arrow again to go back to normal. Custom will only appear if you have vehicles attached to F1-F8. This is vary handy for finding a particular type of vehicle or to concentrate on say just offensive units during a battle. I also finf it handy to get into the habit of always (in every mission) assigning certain function keys to the same buildings. I use F1 for the landing pad, and F2 for the upgrade building (when I have it). This way I can always build and upgrade very quickly without thinking.

Mining
Use mining vehicle, position your cursor in the center of an active mine, and right click. The mining construction vehicle will drive to the mine, construct and begin to mine. Once the mine is empty, they will deconstruct back to a vehicle (an audio warning will sound to notify you) and await further instructions. Some mines regenerate, so a miner will never deconstruct from it once it is basically empty, but continue to mine slowly. Sometime you may need to watch for regenrating mines, because you may actually want to move your miner to another larger mine while the current mine refills itself.

Ground and Air Tugs
A.) Up Arrow on your selected tug to assign your Load/Unload destination, or
B.) Select Load/Unload destinations or recover canisters using the cursor and right clicking.

Once a mine and an unload destination are chosen the miner will stay attached to this mine and continue to shuttle resources back and forth. Tugs remain connected to a miner, even if it deconstructs and moves to another mine. Tugs do loose connection with the miner if the miner is picked up by an air carrier  and dropped off somewhere else though.

Sentinel Obelisk Feeding
Use the same procedures as if you were assigning a tug to a landing pad. In all the missions you only need to feed ONE sentinel obolisk. You may feed more if it is convenient. It is the total amount of sentinal metal fed to the obolisk that matters. To determine if the sentinal obelisks are happy, neutral or mad at you, look at the color of the word Metal in the top right corner of the screen in the menu for how much sentinal metal you have. A Grey color means they are neutral to you. Green is friendly. Blinking Green is Happy. Red is unfriendly towards you, and Blinking Red is very angry at you (I would recommend staying away unless you can attack). A happy sentinel tower is inclined to upgrade any of your units close by to upgrade level 1. A very angry tower will fire at you. Sentinel Obelisks are very tough, sometimes impossible to kill. Destroying them isn’t always the answer. They also can control great powers, so you might want to figure them out. Sentinel towers generally won’t attack unarmed vehicles if very angry, only stuff that poses a threat to them. Some Sentinel towers only like upgraded vehicles so watch out. In some missions you have to compete against the enemy in feeding the towers. The gauge in the top left will show who is feeding the towers more sentinel metal.

Metal Types
There are 3 types of metal resources in Armor Command. Ore is the main metal that you use to build stuff with. Metal is the sentinal metal that is used for upgrading or feeding to sentinal towers. Hull is the metal used by the fleet in space to continue their war efforts (it is of no use to you on the planet) but neccessary to collect for the fleet sometimes. The icons for these metals will appear in the top right of the screen if you have any. There is a numeric value on the right, and a box representation on the left. As you begin building you will notice that the boxes that are normally white will turn green when you have queued up something to be built. This shows you how much of your total resources are being used so far. If you over spend the green boxes will turn red to warn you. Sometimes it is neccessary to que up a lot of stuff even before you have enough money, because contact with the seedship sometimes gets jammed. The seedship will build qued up items as the ore becomes avaliable. The white boxes only show around 10,000 ore, so if you have more it just runs over.

Constructing
Select building in vehicle mode, place cursor on desired location, and right click. Construction Vehicle will move to selected location and construct into building.

Deconstructing (except Landing Pads)
Select building, press Up Arrow, and select deconstruct. Or use T key.

Manufacture Units
Select Landing Pad and press the Up Arrow. Choose category from “Offense”, “Defense”, “Resource”, “Radar” or “Seedship”, and use the left/right arrow keys to select purchase. Press the Up Arrow to begin to manufacture. Use [ ], +  Del keys to modify the queue.

Upgrading
Use Upgrade Station, to target vehicle/building, and right click. You must obtain Tech Level 6 to be able to upgrade units to Upgrade level 2. When you put the cursor over a vehicle to upgrade, with the upgrade station selected, look at the window in the bottom left corner of the screen. It will tell you what the vehicle gets when you upgrade it.

Repair
Repair buildings automatically send Repair Pods to nearby damaged units. To set repair priority, use repair building, target nearby vehicle, and right click. (Once to repair, twice to lock repair)

Drag Select
Press and hold the left mouse button and move the mouse across selected area.

Drag Select and Group
Drag Select units and press the “J” key. (Flying units cannot be grouped with non-flying units. Constructed buildings cannot be grouped with vehicles, just with other constructed buildings.) Also, Units can be joined to Tugs set on automatic mining, and move with them, however the tugs must stay as the leader of the group to continue automatically mining.

Flying Vehicles and Heli-Pads.
To reload, select flying vehicle and press Up Arrow. Assign offensive flying vehicles to a Heli-Pad (this can also be done by targeting the Heli-Pad from your flying vehicle and right clicking). Only one unit/group can be assigned to a Heli-Pad.

Flying Groups: Attack at Will or Attack in Swarm
If a target is on radar, an offensive flying vehicle will continue to attack a selected target until it is destroyed or detargetted. Groups can either attack all together in a swarm or singlely as they each reload. Flying vehicles on hunt/kill mode will act similarly if a threat is detected.

Press Up Arrow on flying vehicle and select to Attack at Will or Attack in Swarm. Activate command by pressing Up Arrow again or the Enter key.
Attack at Will - Flying vehicles will attack immediately after reloading.
Attack in Swarm - Flying vehicles will attack only when all flying vehicles in a group have reloaded.

Loading/Unloading Vehicles with the Air Carrier
To Load: Use Air Carrier, select ground vehicle, and right click. Repeat to load up to eight vehicles (or one building in vehicle mode).
To Unload: Wait until Air Carrier is above selected drop zone, position cursor at a non-targetable area (unload command will appear) and right click. Repeat, to unload multiple vehicles. The Air Carrier doesn’t have to stop to unload it’s cargo, just be over valid terrain.

Place Landing Pad
Select non-constructed Landing Pad. Camera will shift to Satellite view. Position cursor to select a suitably landing area and left click to deploy the Landing Pad. NOTE: It takes approximately up to 1 minute for the Landing Pad to come fully online. Manufacture orders can be placed immediately, but structural integrity may be compromised during that first minute.

Cancel Sell of units
Cancel sale of unit/group by left clicking for new navigation point. Or hit the "S" key again with the unit selected.
